A road resurfacing and maintenance programme covering approximately 4.2 km of municipal roads in the Pretoria North area. The project included full surface treatment, pothole remediation, stormwater drainage repairs, and road safety management throughout the works.

Project Scope

  • Traffic management and work zone safety throughout the programme

Road Safety Management

A comprehensive traffic management plan was developed and approved before work commenced. Flagging operations, temporary speed reductions, and clearly demarcated work zones were maintained at all times. All workers wore high-visibility PPE and the site was inspected daily by the appointed safety officer.

Outcome

The programme was completed within the contracted timeframe. Road condition surveys conducted after completion confirmed that all resurfaced sections met the specified International Roughness Index (IRI) requirements. The client expressed satisfaction with both the quality of work and the minimal disruption to road users during the construction period.
